New
New products are items we receive in perfect condition directly from our suppliers or manufacturers in retail packaging.
Depending on the nature of the product, new products can be either factory sealed or in open packaging.
They include all accessories, documentation, and the full manufacturer warranty.

Bulk Pack
Bulk Pack products are new items we receive in perfect condition directly from our suppliers or manufacturers without retail packaging to reduce the overall cost.
An eco-friendly alternative to retail packaging, Bulk Pack items are often shipped in non-descript boxes, bubble wrap pouches, or small plastic cases for protection during shipping.
In some cases Bulk Packaging can also mean, only the main product without any accessories or documentation. If this is the case, it will be noted in the product description.
Being a brand new product, Bulk Pack items hold the same warranty terms as retail versions.
Bulk Pack items are also commonly known as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), “white box”, “brown box” and “gray market” items.

Open Box
Open box products are items where the retail packaging has been damaged or opened for inspection and subsequently offered at a lower discount price.
Oftentimes, companies sends open box products back to their manufacturer for repackaging but sometimes, after we inspect the product, we decide it’s better to offer it for sale at a discount then return it to its manufacturer.
Companies technicians put all open box product through rigorous inspection to make sure they are in good condition and working properly.
What qualifies as an open box product?
Products that were opened to verify package contents.
Unused products where the packaging was damaged during shipping.
Unused products where the packaging was damaged in our warehouse.
Customer returns where they received the item and changed their mind.
Customer returns where the box was opened but the product was unused.
Customer returns where the box where it was used/tested briefly but the wrong item was ordered.

Grade A Manufacturer Refurbished
Grade A Manufacturer Refurbished products are items that were returned to the manufacturer, parts were replaced or updated with newer technology, and then restored to it’s original working condition. After undergoing an intensive inspection process by qualified technicians, manufacturer refurbished products are guaranteed to work like new but are offered at a substantially discounted price.
Typically referred to as “Refurbs”, an item being classed as “refurbished” does not mean it’s second hand or used. Grade A Manufacturer Refurbished products can originate from a variety of sources, including:
Recalled or returned items that have a slight defect/faulty part, that has been corrected/replaced.
Items where the box or casing was damaged in shipment which are returned to the manufacturer.
Overstock items that were returned to make room for newer product lines.
Grade A manufacturer refurbished products are in like-new retail condition with very little to no cosmentic issues. Item details can be found on the product description page where it will outline any missing accessories, software, documentation. Refurbished items may be shipped in a non-descript boxes or bulk packaging and may not include the original manufacturer warranty.
Grade B Manufacturer Refurbished
Grade B Manufacturer Refurbished products are items that were returned to the manufacturer, parts were replaced or updated with newer technology, and then restored to it’s original working condition. Factory recertified products are items that were returned to the manufacturer, underwent an intensive inspection process by qualified technicians, and passed all the factory tests without anything being repaired but are offered at a substantially discounted price.
Recertified products can originate from a variety of sources, including:
Customer returns or cancelled orders where fully-functional products that leave the manufacturer’s warehouse and therefore can no longer be sold as new.
Items where the box or casing was damaged in shipment which are returned to the manufacturer.
Overstock items that were returned to make room for newer product lines.
Products have been provided to customers for for trial or demonstration purposes.
Products that have been used for purposes such as trade shows, customer events, or solution centers then returned to the manufacturer.
Products from trade-in programs where customers have returned to the manufacturer in order to upgrade to new technology.

What is the difference between OEM, White/Brown Box and Retail items?
The retail and OEM versions usually will have the same exact product, however the retail version will usually come with bundled software and retail packaging. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), White Box or Brown Box versions will come with the main product and usually the drivers, but has no special packaging or software.
Cosmetic Grades
Cosmetic Grade A:
Grade A products will have overall excellent to very good cosmetic condition. Some Grade A units will be cosmetically pristine while others may have light scratches or other minor blemishes. Some Laptops may exhibit some shiny areas around the keyboard (space bar, touchpad and/or touchpad buttons), but the keyboard keys will be in excellent condition. Cosmetic blemishes will have no impact to the system’s overall functionality or performance.
Cosmetic Grade B:
These units will have some cosmetic blemishes that include scratches and/or other surface imperfections. Some Laptops may exhibit shiny keys on the keyboard and/or shiny surfaces around the keyboard. All key characters will be legible. Grade B products are functionally equivalent to Grade A, and will include the same warranty and customer support as Grade A products. Pricing on grade B products will typically be lower than grade A products.
Note: DFS does not cosmetically grade the bottom side of units.
